If you want to gain an audience, you must drop the “all about me” guise and allow your readers to experience your story as if they are there. Here are a few tips on how to blog about your life: If you want to get started into blogging, but you do not know what to write about, have you ever thought about writing about yourself? Many people do and you will find that there are a plethora of blogs where people simply talk about themselves and their lives in the process.

In fact, some people only blog about their life and others will blog about their life and mix it in with other areas that they like as well. If you do plan to blog about yourself, don’t worry, people will read it.
You may be thinking, “Yeah right!” but it is true. You do not have to live an exciting life to be able to blog about yourself. Actually, the only quality you need to have is a personality and honesty. People care about what you have to say and they will continue to come back to your blog if you can make them chuckle or if they can relate to you.

It is probably difficult for you to think about what to write about yourself or what type of content to put on your blog, so we will go over some different options to give you a good idea and a place to start.

Define the Purpose of the Blog

The first thing you need to do is define the purpose of your blog. You cannot have a blog that is all over the place because your readers will not know what to expect. For example, would you read a blog that talks about how to care for your dog’s ringworm and how to make delicious brownies in the next post? No, of course not.

You need to think about what you want to accomplish with your blog and then define the purpose of your blog. Your purpose can be anything, so do not spend too much time on it, but spend enough time that you get it right the first time.

If you do plan to use your blog as a resume, it is a good idea to make sure that you include your skills and talk about your creative ideas and any innovative designs you have in progress. You want to showcase yourself without actually putting the pen to paper and creating a traditional resume Personal transformations are a big deal and if you have ever had one, you know how important they can be. If you are undergoing a transformation or you plan to, you may want to blog about it to encourage others along the way.

For example, you could document weight loss, your journey through a divorce, or even your journey through law school. The transformation or accomplishment that you make does not matter. In fact, it is the inspiration that matters and you may inspire many people to follow suit.

You can use your personal blog as a diary. Many people do not like others to know about their personal life, so what you could do is add a password to your blog and only hand it out to those who you want to have it. For example, if you have been documenting your weight loss and you speak at engagements, you may only want those who attended your engagement to have access to your personal diary.
One of my favorites type of Blog is the “tech blog”.  Now this isn’t something new to blog about, as Tech bloggers have been blogging about technology news and gadget reviews in detail online since the beginning of the internet, But because it’s such a vast niche, you could carve out yourself a really good angle within the tech blog sphere. The trick is to have your own take on tech and don’t just follow the trend. One area which hasn’t really been covered specifically is eco tech, so something to think about. Maybe a blog specifically covering tech aimed at becoming more environmentally conscious
Conclusion

So, can you blog about your life? Definitely, yes.

Can you earn from it? Absolutely.

But I’m spilling some truths for the many bloggers out there to hear. Publishing a blog today doesn’t mean an instant income tomorrow. Blogging isn’t a day job. Treat it as a business that can become a highly profitable passive income in the future.

It takes hard work and skill to build a blog website. Moreover, it may take about 6 months (or even more) before you may see the first trickles of traffic to your blogs. So, be patient.
